Sunburns

Ok let’s first start off by saying we all have had a sunburn in our life time and man do they suck. Taking care of our skin is key and something a lot of us don’t think about doing. Being out in the sun all day or running biking hiking etc. we are exposed to being sun-baked. If you are training outdoors, you must use a waterproof sunblock with no less that SPF 30 and reapply it regularly. If you get a sunburn here is what to do: apply cold compresses this will heal the burn faster, do this several times a day for 15-20 minutes. If the sunburn is mild meaning no blisters apply distilled white vinegar to the burn. The acetic acid in the vinegar acts as a tropical anti-inflammatory. Also use topical lotions, sprays or pure aloe vera gel, to apply to the burn for extra soothing. If your eyelids are burned ally tea bags to them, but first soak them in cold water, the tea has tannic acid which can ease sunburn pain.
Fruits and Vegetables to help aid the healing process: apples, apricots, berries, melons, grapes, mangoes, papayas, pears, carrots, cucumbers, beets, leafy greens, pumpkin, squash
